Today I'd like to tell you about one of the best art exhibitions I have been to - M.C. Escher exhibition, that I was lucky to catch two years ago in Lisbon. The exhibitions are organised all over the world and you can check the schedule on the official M.C. Escher website https://mcescher.com/exhibitions/, where you can also visit an online gallery and read the biography of this amazing artist.

Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972) is one of the world's most famous graphic artists. He was born in the Netherlands, graduated from the School for Architecture and Decorative Arts in Haarlem and after that he travelled extensively and lived abroad for some years. His art is world famous, it has been used by famous musicians on the covers of their LPs, it was used in advertising in his time and now his ideas and principles are still used in advertising (Ikea) and in movies (Inception, Labyrinth).

M.C. Escher, during his lifetime, made 448 lithographs, woodcuts and wood engravings and over 2000 drawings and sketches.

Apart from being a graphic artist, M.C. Escher illustrated books, designed tapestries, stamps, post cards and murals.

I can't recommend this exhibition enough - you won't only get acquainted with the work of one of the greatest artists of all time, but will also have a lot of fun and feel like Alice in Wonderland.
